Andrew Beaton

Having joined us after years as Head Chef of the Two-Rosette Miller Howe Hotel, Andrew Beaton has even cooked for Her Majestic the Queen herself and 30 of her guests. With time also spent at Raymond Blanc’s Petit Blanc, Andy prides himself on producing exceptional, honest food. 


Terry Laybourne

Our Consultant Chef Terry Laybourne brings a wealth of experience with him. In recent years he's been awarded an MBE for services to the Hospitality Industry, voted one of the top 50 most influential figures in Northern Hospitality and recognised by his peers as Independent Restaurateur of the Year. Terry owns and operates six successful restaurants within his 21 Hospitality Group.


Tom Williamson

Having worked in the hospitality industry since the age of 14, Tom's ambition has meant a swift rise from full-time waiting staff to the Bistro Manager in less than 2 years - his meticulous eye for detail ensures that all runs smoothly on the ground for the Bistro and special events.

Set in a former Victorian cattle parlour, the Bistro's surroundings and inspirations are reassuringly solid, natural and rooted in the Lake District. This is reflected in our food; honest, generous and full of flavour. Our team is passionate about what they do and where we are, discover more about who we are and let us welcome you to The Bistro at the Distillery.
